COOGI BACK!!!!
You know the saying..."Everything Old is New" That goes for almost Everything. Especially, when it comes to Fashion!!! I've seen my favorite designer, Ralph Lauren bring back quite a few symbols from back in the day in like, the past year. Another piece of gear, I always liked, was the COOGI brand. I was never fortunate ($$$ wise) to cop any, but I knew, if I did, I would cop me a colorful ass knit a la B.I.G. (RIP) Funny, we looked at Cliff Huxtable rock them 'interesting' (I don't like the word Ugly) knits for some time, but when Big Poppa came through, we figured "Hey, if B.I.G. got one, then its gotta be Fly!!! Some of us actually got the store, and seen the price tag and was like WOOOWWWW.... BACK UP, BACK UP, ABORT MISSION!! While other fly guys, fashion mavens, and trend setters decided to take the $300-$500 'L' for the FLY TEAM, so to speak.
Over time, the brand did some great things, like pocket books, jeans, tee shirts, jackets, etc. So great, they winded up on bargain racks in a few stores, thus making the brand teeter-totter on the lines of being Corny Annd making it the Go -to Fresh gear amongst Country boys all in the South. Finally, the website was gone, and alot of knitwear left too. The jeans, and colorful ass shirts, stayed in the bargain basement. Enter another designer from the past, Wille Esco (remember Esco clothes?) who jump started the return of the brand with a heavy internet and social media campaign via instagram. For weeks, pictures of items were showing up, then people were sending in their own pics of them rocking COOGI, with a ...coming soon notice. Clothing company Rag & Bone made a Coogi inspired knit sweater for women, but the actual brand Still had us wondering, how soon? I was like WHEN????
Well, finally, the time has come. The website will be up soon, like in days, if not up Now, and the COOGI knit wear is available online and in stores. Not just any stores, but Mr Collabo himself, Ronnie Fieg's KITH NYC stores. The knitwear is Still colorful, and some pieces even have some leather on it. Also, theres joggers, with the Coogi knit style. Like it Never left. The price tag ( a whopping $5 hunned and change for sweaters or sweatpants) is kinda hefty, but when you bring back COOGI.... you Can't sell it for Bargain Basement prices. Now, lets see whose gonna take another 'L' for the Flyteam.
