So, If this is not your first time reading this blog, then you already know, I like music, I like sneakers, I like photography, I like art, I like tattoos, I like beautiful women (Dark skinned ones especially) and I love gear aka clothes aka fashion aka wearz...Particularly Polo Ralph Lauren. I been doing it for years, Can't change me over night... If you're into the same things, then you would love this blog. If you into puttin outfits together, you would agree that its like food...No? think about it....You probably never thought bout chicken & waffles TOGETHER...you never thought about Orange slices in your chicken, you probably thought that Peanut butter and jelly, was the end all...When people are eating Peanut Butter and banana sammiches alll the time...My son put me onto Ranch dressing with French fries...yuckk..but hey, it works for him. What also works is Rocking different labels together. Like, a polo tee, with a gore-tex asics jacket, and sum timbs...or maybe a pair of red polo sweats, cream fila sneakers and a plain white tee...how bout the new uniform, a regular raglan tee, pair of camo pants, and a pair of jordans, or foams? its not what you wear, its all how you put it together.
I remember, the FIRST time I ever seen THE NORTH FACE...I knew some Lo heads (they were G FORCE AND RALPHIES KIDS) and I knew some Decepts...I knew a group of Decept heads that went on a trip to the Reading, Pa outlets, ran up in THE NORTH FACE store, and got busy...a 'la STEAM TEAM/LO LIFE STYLE...they came back with the wears, and thus was born another decept chapter called The Face heads...it wasn't LO, but it was something about that North Face gear...the colors, the material...the name...I mean, what is the North Face?...Come to find out, it was an outdoor hiking, camping, winter type gear that garnered hefty price tags...ohh ok. Then it made sense, why clothing companies, that been around for years, really became revelant in 'urban' street wear, once WE started wearing them. Ask anyone, ask CB, PATAGONIA, JANSPORT, ask TIMBERLAND, the brand that, even though it was rumored that they didn't want 'us' wearing it, did how many numbers due to our purchases? Really, I been around alot of non-black, non-urban people, and they don't wear constructs, or field boots...its one thing to make a green & brown boot (beef n broccoli) but what was the significance of making a blue, yellow, even a white pair?
Hey, it is what it is..Fast forward, Gear has broke every color line...If you a fly dude, you a fly dude...Now, when it comes to throwing clothes together, you might find that the weather might not call for all your gear to go together...translation, Polo gooses are nice, but sometimes, you gotta just pull out a 'Face... Everyone I know, that wears, favors, collects Polo clothing...Owns a fila, a jordan, a foamposite, an Adidas, Gucci, Guess, Fendi, gore-tex Anything!!! as well as a North Face of some sort. So when a few people that I happen to be acquainted with, decided to do a NORTH FACE photo shoot... They turned it up 2 extra notches. I thought I was looking at a North Face x Polo lookbook. Its straight peanut butter & jelly, the two just GO TOGETHER!!
Since the shoot took place in the world famous Washington Square park, in the village, I mean Greenwich village in lower Manhattan..And I couldn't be there, I was fortunate to borrow a few flicks from my new photographer friend Pravan. You can check him out
